Important Notice
These Terms of Service contain a binding individual arbitration provision and a class action waiver (Section 27). They affect your legal rights. Except for certain types of disputes described in Section 27, you and Bookable America, Inc. agree that disputes between us will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration, and you waive your right to a jury trial and your right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration. Section 27.8 explains how you may opt out of arbitration within thirty (30) days. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, Section 27 does not apply to you — see Appendix C.
These Terms also contain important provisions regarding virtual items (“Stars”), which have no monetary value and are non-refundable (Section 10); automatic subscription renewal (Section 13); disclaimers of warranties (Section 23); and limitations of liability (Section 24).
Welcome to Readoh. These Terms of Service (these “Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “your,” or “User”) and Bookable America, Inc., a corporation with its mailing address at 442 5th Ave, Manhattan, NY 10018, United States (“Bookable America,” the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), and govern your access to and use of the Readoh mobile application (the “App”), the website located at readoh.com (the “Site”), and all related services, features, content, application programming interfaces, tools, and functionality offered by the Company from time to time (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, downloading, installing, accessing, browsing, or otherwise using the Services in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by the following documents, each incorporated by reference: (a) our Privacy Policy; (b) the Publishing Agreement set forth in Appendix A, where you participate in publishing or distribution features; and (c) any Supplemental Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you are not authorized to access or use the Services and must not do so.
Certain features, programs, promotions, or offerings may be subject to additional or supplemental terms, guidelines, rules, or policies presented to you at or before the time you use them (“Supplemental Terms”), incorporated into these Terms by reference. In the event of a direct conflict, the Supplemental Terms control solely with respect to the specific feature, program, promotion, or offering to which they apply.
No employee, contractor, or agent of the Company has authority to vary, waive, or supplement these Terms orally or through informal communications (including support conversations, social media replies, or in-app messages). Any modification of these Terms is effective only if made in accordance with Section 29 or in a written agreement signed by an authorized officer of the Company.
We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms should be construed as conferring any license or right by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
For purposes of these Terms, the following capitalized terms have the meanings set forth below. Other terms are defined contextually throughout these Terms.
Readoh is a social reading, writing, and publishing platform that combines community, creative publishing, and monetization tools. The Services are provided for personal and creator use as described in these Terms.
Depending on availability, your location, your device, your Account status, and your eligibility, the Services may include, without limitation:
The Services evolve continuously. We may, in our sole discretion and to the extent permitted by applicable law, add, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue any feature, program, content, or portion of the Services at any time, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice. Where a change would materially and adversely affect paid features for which you have a current, unexpired subscription, we will provide notice and, where required by law or App Store policy, an appropriate remedy. We do not guarantee that any particular feature, content, or third-party integration will remain available.
Content available through the Services — including User Content, articles, stories, statistics, and any information about publishing, monetization, or taxes — is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, tax, investment, or other professional advice. You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on such content.
The Services are operated from the United States. Certain features — including monetization, withdrawals, identity verification, subscriptions, and External Distribution — may be unavailable, restricted, or subject to different requirements in certain jurisdictions. We make no representation that the Services or any content are appropriate or available for use in any particular location, and you are responsible for compliance with local laws where you access the Services.
THE SERVICES ARE INTENDED SOLELY FOR PERSONS WHO ARE AT LEAST EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE, OR THE AGE OF LEGAL MAJORITY IN THEIR JURISDICTION OF RESIDENCE, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. The Services are not directed to minors, and persons under 18 may not create an Account or use the Services for any purpose, with or without parental consent. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
By accessing or using the Services, you further represent and warrant that:
We may employ reasonable measures to verify age and may request additional documentation at any time. If we determine or reasonably believe that a User is under 18, we will terminate the Account, delete associated personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law, and, where legally required, take additional protective measures. Any unused Stars associated with an ineligible account will be handled in accordance with applicable law and App Store policy.
We do not offer parental-consent, family, supervised, or teen account pathways of any kind. No parent, guardian, or other person may register an Account for, or authorize use of the Services by, a person under 18, and any such purported consent is void.
Creating a new account to evade a suspension, termination, or feature restriction is a material breach of these Terms, and any such account may be terminated immediately without notice.
To access most features of the Services you must register for an Account by providing the information we request, which may include your legal name, username, email address, date of birth, country, and phone number. Certain features require additional information, verification, or onboarding (for example, tax and banking information for withdrawals).
You agree to provide and maintain accurate, current, and complete Account information. Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information is a material breach of these Terms and may result in denial of features (including monetization and withdrawals), suspension, or termination.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your Account credentials, devices, and any authentication mechanisms used to access your Account, and for all activities that occur under your Account, whether or not authorized by you. You agree to: (a) use a strong, unique credential set; (b) not share your credentials with any other person; (c) immediately notify us at [email protected] of any unauthorized access, use, or security breach; and (d) ensure that you log out or otherwise secure your Account at the end of each session on shared devices. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your Account resulting from your acts or omissions.
Unless we expressly permit otherwise in writing, each natural person may register and maintain only one personal Account. You may not register on behalf of another person, use another person’s identity, commercialize any Account or its attributes, or operate networks of accounts.
You have no ownership or property interest in any username. We may reclaim, reassign, or require you to change a username that violates these Terms, infringes a trademark or other right, impersonates a person or entity, is misleading, has been inactive for an extended period, or is needed for operational or legal reasons.
We may deem an Account inactive after an extended period without login or use and may, with notice where required by law, deactivate or delete inactive Accounts and associated content, subject to Section 12.7 with respect to any remaining Wallet balance.
In the event of a User’s death, we may, upon receipt of appropriate documentation, close the Account and, where legally required and practicable, address the disposition of any lawfully payable Wallet balance to the User’s estate in accordance with applicable law. We do not provide account access to heirs or representatives except as required by law.
We may require identity verification as a condition of accessing certain features, including the Verified Badge, Creator monetization, the Publishing Program and External Distribution, withdrawals, follower export, and any feature where verification is required by law, by our payment processor, or by our risk and compliance policies. We may also require re-verification at any time, including following account changes, suspicious activity, chargebacks, or legal requests.
Identity verification is performed with the assistance of third-party verification providers. You may be asked to provide government-issued identification, a live selfie or liveness check, and other information. You represent and warrant that all identity information and documents you submit are your own, genuine, unaltered, current, and accurate. Submitting another person’s identity documents, forged or altered documents, or manipulated media (including AI-generated or “deepfake” imagery) is a material breach of these Terms and may constitute a crime, which we may report to law enforcement.
We and our verification providers may approve, decline, or request additional information in connection with any verification attempt. We may deny, suspend, limit, or revoke access to verification-gated features — and may remove the Verified Badge without refund — if verification fails, cannot be completed, expires, or is later determined to have been obtained fraudulently. Verification decisions may be based on automated processing by our providers; where required by law, you may request human review.
Identity verification data is collected and processed by us and our verification providers in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the providers’ terms and privacy policies. We do not use identity verification data for advertising and do not sell it.
Successful verification and display of the Verified Badge indicate only that the account holder completed our identity verification process and maintains an active subscription. Verification is not an endorsement, sponsorship, or certification of any User or of the accuracy, legality, or quality of any User’s content.
“User Content” means any and all content, materials, information, and data that you create, upload, post, publish, submit, transmit, stream, display, distribute, or otherwise make available on or through the Services, including posts, Articles, Stories, books, manuscripts and associated materials, comments, reviews and ratings, notes, reading activity you choose to share, messages, Club and Live Audio contributions, profile information, images, audio and voice recordings, polls, and any other content attributable to your Account.
As between you and the Company, you retain all right, title, and interest in and to your User Content, including all intellectual property rights therein. These Terms do not transfer ownership of any User Content to us. We do not claim ownership of your books, stories, articles, posts, or any other creative work you make available through the Services.
Solely to the extent necessary to operate, provide, secure, promote, and improve the Services, you grant Bookable America, Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to:
The license in Section 7.3 continues for as long as the applicable User Content remains available on the Services, and terminates on a forward-looking basis within a commercially reasonable time after you delete the content or your Account, except that: (a) content you have shared with other users may remain accessible to those recipients; (b) copies may persist in backups and logs for a limited period; (c) we may retain and use content as required by law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and (d) books enrolled in the Publishing Program or External Distribution are additionally governed by the Publishing Agreement.
For the avoidance of doubt: the license in Section 7.3 does not permit us to sell your User Content to third parties, to license your User Content to third parties for purposes unrelated to the Services, or to use your private content (such as direct messages or unpublished drafts) for promotion.
Each time you make User Content available through the Services, you represent and warrant that:
Where your User Content includes your voice (for example, voice posts or Live Audio) or your image or likeness, you grant us the rights in Section 7.3 with respect to that voice, image, and likeness. Where your User Content includes the voice, image, or likeness of any other person, you represent and warrant that you have obtained that person’s informed consent sufficient to grant the rights in Section 7.3.
We do not undertake any general obligation to monitor, review, or edit User Content, and we are not responsible for User Content. However, we reserve the right, at any time and without prior notice, to review, screen, filter, refuse to publish, remove, restrict, demonetize, label, age-restrict, or disable access to any User Content for any reason we deem appropriate. Section 16 describes our enforcement framework and your appeal rights.
If you submit comments, suggestions, ideas, proposals, or other feedback regarding the Services (“Feedback”), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, fully sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, and otherwise exploit the Feedback for any purpose without restriction, attribution, or compensation. Do not submit Feedback that you consider confidential or proprietary.
The Services are not a backup, archival, or escrow service. You are solely responsible for creating and maintaining independent backup copies of your User Content, including manuscripts, books, articles, and stories. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will have no liability for any loss, corruption, deletion, or unavailability of User Content.
User Content is the sole responsibility of the User who made it available. We do not endorse, support, verify, or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, legality, or reliability of any User Content, and opinions expressed in User Content are those of their authors, not the Company.
Readoh exists to support and reward human creativity. Accordingly, you may not create, upload, post, publish, monetize, or distribute through the Services any content that is wholly or substantially generated by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar automated generative systems (“AI-Generated Content”), whether or not disclosed as such. This prohibition applies to all content types, including AI-generated or AI-written books, stories, articles, posts, and reviews; AI-generated artwork or cover art presented as original creative work; AI-generated or synthetic voice content and voice clones; and AI-generated translations presented as original works.
The following do not violate Section 8.1 when the underlying creative expression is your own: spelling, grammar, and punctuation checkers; basic formatting, layout, and typographic tools; accessibility tools (such as dictation of your own words); and search or research tools used to inform work you then write yourself.
We may use a combination of automated detection, metadata analysis, manual review, and user reports to identify suspected AI-Generated Content. If we reasonably believe content violates this Section 8, we may, without liability: remove or restrict the content; deny, suspend, or revoke monetization or distribution of the content; withhold or reverse Earnings attributable to the violating content; require you to provide evidence of authorship; and suspend or terminate repeat or egregious violators. Detection of AI-Generated Content is inherently imperfect; Section 16 describes how to appeal an enforcement decision you believe is mistaken.
Distribution Channels may impose their own AI-content policies and disclosure requirements, which may be stricter than ours. You are responsible for complying with all such channel requirements for works you distribute through External Distribution.
Your use of the Services must comply at all times with this Section 9 (the “Community Standards”), as further explained in the Community Guidelines set forth in Appendix B, which form an integral part of these Terms. You agree that you will not, and will not encourage, enable, or assist any other person to:
“Stars” are digital virtual items that we make available within the Services. Stars may be used, where available, to (a) unlock Paywalled Articles and Stories, and (b) send gifts to other users. Creators may receive Stars from other users, and received Stars may be converted into Earnings (Section 11).
STARS ARE NOT MONEY, LEGAL TENDER, FIAT OR VIRTUAL CURRENCY, E-MONEY, A STORED-VALUE OR PREPAID PRODUCT, A DEPOSIT, A SECURITY, A COMMODITY, OR ANY OTHER FINANCIAL INSTRUMENT, AND THE STARS PROGRAM IS NOT A MONEY TRANSMISSION, BANKING, OR PAYMENT SERVICE.
Stars: (a) have no monetary or cash value; (b) cannot be redeemed or cashed out for money or anything of value outside the Services, except that Creators’ received Stars are converted into Earnings solely as described in Sections 11–12; (c) cannot be transferred outside the Services or between Accounts except through in-app features (such as gifting); (d) may not be sold, bartered, traded, or exchanged outside the Services, and any such attempted transaction is void; and (e) are not insured or guaranteed by any governmental agency. You receive only a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Stars within the Services in accordance with these Terms.
Stars may be purchased through in-app purchase mechanisms operated by the applicable App Store, or through such other payment methods as we may make available. Prices, bundle sizes, and applicable taxes are displayed at the point of purchase and may vary by platform, region, and currency. We may change Star pricing, denominations, bundles, and availability at any time; changes do not affect completed purchases.
EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW OR THE MANDATORY POLICIES OF THE APPLICABLE APP STORE, ALL PURCHASES OF STARS ARE FINAL, NON-REFUNDABLE, AND NON-EXCHANGEABLE.
Refund requests for App Store purchases must be directed to the applicable App Store. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, by purchasing Stars you expressly request and consent to immediate delivery of the digital content and acknowledge that you thereby lose your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal once delivery has begun; see Appendix C.
When you spend Stars to unlock Paywalled content, you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to access and view that content within the Services for so long as the content remains available and your Account remains in good standing. Unlocking content does not grant you ownership, download rights, or any guarantee that the content will remain available.
Gifting Stars to another user is voluntary, gratuitous, and final. Except where a gift functions as payment through a Paywall feature, a gift is not payment for goods, services, or any promised benefit. You may not gift Stars in exchange for off-platform goods or services, as part of any manipulation scheme, or under duress or unlawful arrangement.
Stars do not accrue interest and are not an investment. You should not purchase Stars as a means of storing value or with any expectation of profit.
We may, acting reasonably and with notice where required by law, adjust, cancel, revoke, or reclaim Stars (and reverse any downstream Earnings) where Stars were acquired through fraud, theft, chargeback, error, or violation of these Terms, or where an App Store or payment processor reverses the underlying purchase.
We may modify the Stars program prospectively at any time. If we discontinue the Stars program entirely, we will provide reasonable advance notice and an opportunity to use outstanding Stars, or another appropriate remedy where required by law. Creators’ accrued, lawfully earned Earnings will remain withdrawable for a reasonable wind-down period.
We may from time to time grant promotional or bonus Stars at no charge, subject to additional conditions disclosed at the time of grant, including possible expiration and exclusion from Earnings conversion.
Eligible Creators may monetize their Articles and Stories by configuring Star Paywalls at per-unlock prices they select, and may receive Star gifts from other users. Readoh’s monetization model for Paywalls and gifts is pay-per-unlock and gifting — not reader subscriptions.
Stars are credited toward the Creator’s Earnings at the applicable conversion rate, and platform-imposed fees apply only at withdrawal (Section 12.4). The U.S. dollar Earnings value of a received Star will be less than the retail price a purchaser paid for that Star, reflecting amounts retained by App Stores and payment processors, applicable taxes, and other costs. We reserve the right to introduce, modify, or remove platform fees on a prospective basis, upon at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice.
Monetization features are available only to Creators who satisfy eligibility requirements we establish from time to time, which may include minimum age, completed identity verification, Account good standing, geographic eligibility, completion of payout onboarding, and submission of required tax documentation.
Creators are solely responsible for the pricing, description, previews, and audience expectations of their Paywalled content. You must not misrepresent what is behind a Paywall, materially and deceptively alter Paywalled content after users have unlocked it, or use Paywalls to sell or deliver anything other than the content itself.
Stars received by a Creator are converted into U.S. dollar-denominated Earnings at the conversion rate displayed within the Services. Conversion rates may be updated prospectively at any time; previously converted Earnings are not retroactively adjusted by rate changes. Absent manifest error, our records are the authoritative record of transactions.
As a Creator, you are solely responsible for your content and its legality, quality, and originality; honoring representations you make to your audience; complying with all applicable laws; your obligations to third parties, including co-authors and taxing authorities; and maintaining your own records of your creative and financial activity.
Creators are independent parties. Nothing in these Terms or in your use of monetization features creates any employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, or franchise relationship between you and the Company.
All Earnings are gross amounts. You are solely responsible for determining, reporting, and paying any and all taxes, duties, and governmental charges applicable to your Earnings. We and/or Stripe may require accurate tax documentation (including IRS Form W-9 or applicable Form W-8 series), may suspend withdrawals pending receipt of such documentation, may withhold amounts where required by law, and will file information returns where required by law.
THE WALLET IS NOT A BANK ACCOUNT, DEPOSIT ACCOUNT, CHECKING OR SAVINGS ACCOUNT, PREPAID ACCESS, OR STORED-VALUE PRODUCT; WALLET BALANCES DO NOT EARN INTEREST; AND WALLET BALANCES ARE NOT INSURED BY THE FDIC, SIPC, OR ANY OTHER GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY.
A Wallet balance represents an unsecured contractual entitlement to payment from the Company subject to and in accordance with these Terms.
Portions of your Wallet balance may be designated as pending or unavailable for withdrawal during processing, verification, holds, or clearing periods we reasonably apply to manage fraud and reversal risk.
To withdraw Earnings you must: (a) complete onboarding with our third-party payment processor, Stripe; (b) maintain accurate and current payout, identity, and tax information; (c) have an available Wallet balance of at least twenty-five U.S. dollars ($25.00) (the “Minimum Withdrawal Threshold”); (d) be in good standing under these Terms; and (e) reside in a jurisdiction where payouts are supported and permitted.
Each withdrawal is subject to a processing fee equal to four and nine-tenths percent (4.9%) of the amount withdrawn, plus thirty U.S. cents ($0.30), deducted from the withdrawal proceeds. We may modify the withdrawal fee prospectively upon at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice.
Withdrawal timing depends on our payment processor, payout method, your financial institution, weekends and holidays, and applicable review processes, and is not guaranteed.
We and our payment processor may delay, condition, review, suspend, or decline any withdrawal, and may place holds on all or part of a Wallet balance where reasonably necessary to comply with law, investigate suspected fraud or manipulation, or verify identity, tax, or payout information. We may deduct from and offset against your Wallet any Earnings attributable to reversed or fraudulent Stars, amounts previously paid in error, and any other amounts you owe us.
If your Account is closed by you in good standing, you may withdraw your remaining eligible balance. If your Account is terminated for material breach involving fraud, manipulation, or financial crime, Earnings attributable to the wrongful activity are subject to forfeiture to the fullest extent permitted by law. Balances that remain unclaimed after the period specified by applicable unclaimed property law will be handled in accordance with such law.
Payout processing services are provided by Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. By onboarding for withdrawals, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement and authorize us to share your information with Stripe.
Earnings are denominated, and withdrawals are initiated, in U.S. dollars unless we expressly state otherwise. Any currency conversion is performed by Stripe or your financial institution at their rates and fees.
We currently offer the following paid subscriptions, in addition to Star purchases (Section 10).
The Verified Badge is an optional subscription, currently priced at nineteen U.S. dollars and ninety-nine cents ($19.99) per year, that displays a verification badge on the profile of an eligible subscriber. The badge reflects identity verification and active subscription status only, is not an endorsement, and may be removed without refund if you breach these Terms, fail or decline re-verification, or your subscription lapses.
External Distribution is an optional subscription, currently priced at ninety-nine U.S. dollars ($99.00) per year, that enables eligible Creators to distribute qualifying books to third-party Distribution Channels (Section 14 and Appendix A).
Subscriptions and in-app purchases made through an App Store are billed by, processed by, and subject to the terms and refund policies of that App Store. The App Store is the merchant of record; cancellation must be effected through your App Store subscription settings.
UNLESS YOU CANCEL BEFORE THE END OF THE CURRENT SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD, EACH SUBSCRIPTION AUTOMATICALLY RENEWS FOR SUCCESSIVE PERIODS EQUAL IN LENGTH TO THE INITIAL PERIOD, AND THE PAYMENT METHOD ON FILE WILL BE CHARGED THE THEN-CURRENT PRICE (PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES) AT THE START OF EACH RENEWAL PERIOD.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current period. Except as required by applicable law or App Store policy, subscription fees are non-refundable.
We may change subscription prices, features, and plan structures. For an existing subscription, a price increase will apply no earlier than your next renewal, with advance notice as required by law and App Store policy.
Unless you cancel before the end of a trial or introductory period, your subscription converts automatically to a paid subscription at the disclosed standard price.
Displayed prices may exclude taxes. You are responsible for all sales, use, value-added, digital services, and similar taxes applicable to your purchases.
If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you may have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a subscription purchase, subject to the conditions described in Appendix C.
If a renewal payment fails, the billing platform may retry payment; if payment cannot be collected, your subscription and its benefits may be suspended or canceled.
Your preparation, publication, pricing, sale, and distribution of books through the Services is additionally governed by the Publishing Agreement set forth in Appendix A. By publishing or enrolling any work, you accept the Publishing Agreement.
WE ARE A PLATFORM AND DISTRIBUTION INTERMEDIARY, NOT YOUR PUBLISHER, AGENT, EDITOR, OR LITERARY REPRESENTATIVE, AND WE OWE YOU NO FIDUCIARY DUTIES.
Except as expressly stated otherwise in the Publishing Agreement, all rights you grant in connection with the Publishing Program and External Distribution are non-exclusive. You remain free to publish and distribute your works through other channels, subject to your obligations regarding conflicting exclusivity and overlapping distribution.
For each work you publish or distribute you represent, warrant, and covenant that you are the authorized rightsholder; all bibliographic information and metadata is accurate and lawful; the work does not misrepresent public domain material; the work is fully cleared for any quoted material; the work complies with Section 8 (no AI-Generated Content) and each Distribution Channel’s content policies; and you will promptly correct inaccurate information.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ACCEPTANCE OF ANY WORK BY ANY CHANNEL, LISTING SPEED OR PLACEMENT, ANY LEVEL OF SALES OR REVENUE, THE ACCURACY OF CHANNEL SALES REPORTING, OR THE CONTINUED PARTICIPATION OF ANY CHANNEL IN OUR PROGRAM.
Sales analytics and proceeds for distributed works are based on data reported to us by Distribution Channels, which may be delayed, estimated, adjusted, or corrected. Channel-initiated adjustments may be deducted from future proceeds or offset against your Wallet.
Where print-related features are offered, manufacturing costs are calculated based on specifications you select and displayed within the Services. Production variations within industry-standard tolerances are not defects.
You may unpublish works at any time. Removal from Distribution Channels requires channel processing time, which we do not control; copies already sold or in fulfillment cannot be recalled; and metadata may persist in third-party catalogs beyond our control.
We may suspend or remove any work from the Publishing Program or External Distribution where we reasonably believe the work or your conduct violates these Terms, the Publishing Agreement, channel requirements, third-party rights, or applicable law.
15.1 Posts and Feed. The feed and discovery surfaces may be ranked and personalized. We do not guarantee that any post will be shown to any particular audience or achieve any particular reach. Polls are informal and unscientific.
15.2 Voice Posts and Audio. You must not post audio containing third-party copyrighted sound recordings or compositions without authorization.
15.3 Articles and Stories. Formatting tools may alter visual presentation across devices. You are responsible for reviewing your published content.
15.4 Clubs. Club creators and designated moderators are responsible for the administration of their Clubs consistent with these Terms. We may remove Clubs, remove or demote moderators, or transfer Club administration where reasonably necessary.
15.5 Live Audio. Live Audio sessions are ephemeral unless a recording feature is expressly enabled with participant notice. Real-time moderation of live speech is inherently limited; we may monitor, restrict, mute, suspend, or terminate sessions at any time.
15.6 Messaging.Messages are private between participants as a product matter, subject to recipients’ ability to save or report messages, our automated safety systems, and legal process.
15.7 Library, Tracking, Goals, and Streaks. Reading statistics, streaks, goals, and check-ins are provided for personal motivation and entertainment and have no monetary value. Metrics may be recalculated, corrected, or reset.
15.8 Reviews and Ratings. Reviews must reflect your genuine opinion of a work you have meaningfully engaged with. You must not review your own work, trade or sell reviews, or use reports to suppress honest criticism.
15.9 Trending and Directories. Trending surfaces and similar directories are generated by automated systems, may be cached or delayed, and are not endorsements.
15.10 Notifications. You can manage push notification preferences in device settings and, where offered, in-app. Some service and security communications cannot be disabled while you maintain an Account.
15.11 Contact Discovery. Where you enable contact-based features, contacts data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
We enforce these Terms using a combination of automated systems, human review, and user reports. Enforcement actions may include warnings; removal, restriction, labeling, or demotion of content; loss of feature access; removal of badges; recalculation or reset of metrics; holds, offsets, reversals, or forfeitures (Sections 10–12); temporary suspension; and permanent termination.
Where practicable, lawful, and consistent with safety and integrity considerations, we will notify you of significant enforcement actions affecting your Account or content and identify the general basis for the action.
Except where prohibited by law, you may appeal a significant enforcement action by following the instructions in the enforcement notice or by contacting [email protected] with the subject line “Enforcement Appeal.” Appeals will be reviewed by personnel with appropriate authority. We will use reasonable efforts to resolve appeals promptly.
We may remove or disclose content and information in response to valid legal process or where we believe in good faith that doing so is required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent imminent harm.
Where required by the Digital Services Act, we will provide affected EU users with a statement of reasons for restrictions imposed on their content or accounts.
Our single point of contact for users and for Member State authorities under the Digital Services Act is [email protected] (communications accepted in English). EU users may lodge complaints through our internal complaint-handling system and may also seek judicial redress.
We may preserve content and account records associated with suspected serious violations or legal matters, even after content deletion or account termination, as permitted or required by law.
The Services provide tools to report content, accounts, messages, Clubs, and Live Audio conduct that you believe violates these Terms. We review reports but cannot guarantee any particular outcome or response time.
You may block or restrict other users through in-app tools. Blocking affects visibility and interaction as designed but cannot guarantee that a blocked person will never encounter your public content.
The Services are not monitored for emergencies and are not a substitute for emergency services. If you believe someone is in imminent danger, contact local emergency services immediately.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE CONDUCT OF USERS OR THIRD PARTIES, WHETHER ONLINE OR OFFLINE.
The Services — including all software, source code, algorithms, databases, designs, user interfaces, text, graphics, logos, and documentation (excluding User Content) — together with all intellectual property rights therein, are and will remain the exclusive property of the Company and its licensors.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Company grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and install the App and to access and use the Services solely for your personal use and your legitimate Creator activities.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, remove proprietary notices from, or use the Services to build a competing product.
The App may include software components licensed under open source licenses, which govern your use of the corresponding component.
You may not copy, download, scrape, record, republish, or create derivative works from other users’ content — including Paywalled content you have unlocked — without the content owner’s permission. Circumventing a Paywall is a material breach of these Terms.
We respect the intellectual property rights of others and respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512 (“DMCA”).
If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a written notification to our Designated Agent including:
Designated Copyright Agent:
Bookable America, Inc.
442 5th Ave, Manhattan, NY 10018, United States
Email: [email protected]
If material you posted was removed and you believe this was a mistake, you may send a written counter-notification meeting the requirements of the DMCA, including your consent to jurisdiction and acceptance of service of process. We may restore the material in ten (10) to fourteen (14) business days absent notice of a court action.
We will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate the Accounts of users determined to be repeat infringers.
Any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
Complaints regarding trademark infringement or other non-copyright intellectual property concerns may be sent to [email protected] with the subject line “IP Complaint.”
“Readoh,” “Bookable America,” and associated names, logos, and slogans are trademarks of the Company or its licensors. You may not use these marks in any manner likely to cause confusion as to source, sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement, except for truthful, nominative references that comply with any brand guidelines we publish.
Except as part of the license in Section 7.3(e) or with your consent, we will not use your name or likeness to imply your endorsement of the Company.
We believe the audience you build belongs to you. Eligible Creators may export a list of their followers — including the email addresses of followers who have chosen to share them — so you can stay connected with your readers directly, just as you would with a newsletter subscriber list (“Exported Data”). Your list is yours to keep: it remains available to you until you leave Readoh, subject to this Section.
Followers share their contact information so they can hear from you about your work. The export includes only the information followers have consented to share.
Once you export your list, you become an independent controller of the Exported Data, and the Company is not responsible for how you use it. Being a good sender means honoring unsubscribes and deletion requests promptly; using truthful sender names and subject lines; complying with the privacy laws that apply to you and your audience (GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, CASL, TCPA); and keeping the list reasonably secure.
Never sell, rent, trade, or give your list to anyone else; don’t use it to contact people who have unsubscribed, opted out, or blocked you; don’t merge it with other data to profile people beyond communicating with them about your work; and don’t keep it longer than you need it.
Misuse of Exported Data is a material breach of these Terms and may result in loss of export access, other enforcement, and legal action, and your indemnification obligations under Section 25 include claims arising from your use of Exported Data.
The Services incorporate, interoperate with, and depend upon services provided by third parties, including App Stores, payment and payout providers, identity verification providers, cloud hosting providers, and Distribution Channels. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services or their acts or omissions.
The Services may contain links to third-party websites and content sourced from third parties (such as book covers and bibliographic data). We do not endorse and are not responsible for them.
You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining the devices, operating systems, and internet connectivity needed to use the Services.
If you access the App through the Apple App Store: these Terms are concluded between you and Bookable America, Inc. only — not with Apple Inc. — and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Your license is limited to use on Apple-branded products as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance and support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to your license of the App.
If you access the App through Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service, and in-app purchases are subject to Google Play’s payment and refund policies.
23.1 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT, FEATURES, SOFTWARE, STARS, WALLET FUNCTIONALITY, MONETIZATION TOOLS, PUBLISHING AND DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMS, ANALYTICS, METRICS, AND MATERIALS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS,” “AS AVAILABLE,” AND “WITH ALL FAULTS” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. THE COMPANY AND ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SUPPLIERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS (THE “COMPANY PARTIES”) EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
23.2 Without limiting the foregoing, the Company Parties make no warranty that the Services will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted or error-free, be free of harmful components, or that any content, statistics, or analytics are accurate; or that you will earn any particular amount from monetization, Paywalls, publishing, or distribution.
23.3 The Company Parties are not parties to, and disclaim all liability arising from, interactions, transactions, gifts, unlocks, or disputes between or among users. You assume all risk associated with User Content and user conduct.
23.4 Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights that cannot be waived or limited by contract.
24.1 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ANY COMPANY PARTY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, CONTENT, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY.
24.2 THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE COMPANY PARTIES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) AND (B) THE TOTAL AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO THE COMPANY DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE FIRST EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, PLUS THE AMOUNT OF ANY UNPAID LAWFULLY EARNED WALLET BALANCES.
24.3 These exclusions and limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct where limitation is prohibited, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your liability for infringement of the Company’s intellectual property or indemnification obligations.
24.4 You acknowledge that the disclaimers and limitations in Sections 23 and 24 reflect a reasonable and fair allocation of risk and are an essential basis of the bargain.
24.5 Any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim accrues, or it is permanently barred, except where prohibited by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Company Parties from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to: your User Content; your access to or use (or misuse) of the Services; your breach of these Terms, the Publishing Agreement, or any Supplemental Terms; your Creator activities, including Paywalls, gifting, publishing, and distribution; your collection, use, or disclosure of Exported Data; your violation of any law or third-party right; and your disputes with any other user or third party.
We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of any claim subject to indemnification. We reserve the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate fully with our defense.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable federal law of the United States, except that Section 27 (arbitration) is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
Subject to Section 27, any judicial proceeding permitted under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware.
Nothing in this Section 26 deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of the country or state where you habitually reside.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT REQUIRES YOU TO ARBITRATE DISPUTES WITH THE COMPANY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND LIMITS THE MANNER IN WHICH YOU CAN SEEK RELIEF, INCLUDING BY WAIVING YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIONS. SECTION 27.8 EXPLAINS HOW TO OPT OUT. THIS SECTION 27 DOES NOT APPLY TO CONSUMERS HABITUALLY RESIDENT IN THE EEA OR THE UK (SEE APPENDIX C-6).
“Dispute” means any past, present, or future dispute, claim, or controversy between you and the Company arising out of or relating in any way to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Publishing Agreement, the Services, Stars, the Wallet, Earnings, subscriptions, content, or your relationship with the Company.
Before either party may commence arbitration, the party asserting a Dispute must first send a written, individualized Notice of Dispute to Bookable America, Inc., Attn: Legal Notice of Dispute, 442 5th Ave, Manhattan, NY 10018, with an email copy to [email protected]. The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the Dispute for at least sixty (60) days before arbitration may be commenced.
Either party may pursue an individual claim in small claims court, bring an action seeking injunctive relief for IP infringement or unauthorized access, or raise matters with government agencies.
Except as provided in Section 27.3, all Disputes will be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
The arbitrator has exclusive authority to resolve threshold disputes about this arbitration agreement, except disputes about the class action waiver or Mass Arbitration procedures, which are decided by a court.
YOU AND THE COMPANY EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY AND THE RIGHT TO LITIGATE OR ARBITRATE ANY DISPUTE AS A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR ANY OTHER CONSOLIDATED OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
If twenty-five (25) or more similar demands for arbitration are filed with coordinated counsel, the AAA’s Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules apply, and arbitrations proceed in staged, randomized batches.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement and class action waiver by delivering written notice within thirty (30) days after you first accept these Terms to Bookable America, Inc., Attn: Arbitration Opt-Out, 442 5th Ave, Manhattan, NY 10018, or by email to [email protected] with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out.”
The arbitration will be conducted in English by a single neutral arbitrator. For claims seeking $25,000 or less, the arbitration will be conducted on documents only unless a hearing is requested. Each party bears its own attorneys’ fees except where awarded by the arbitrator.
The parties will maintain the confidential nature of the arbitration proceeding and the award, except as necessary to enforce or challenge the award or as required by law.
Except as expressly provided in Sections 27.6 and 27.7, if any portion of this Section 27 is found unlawful, that portion will be severed and the remainder will remain in force. This Section 27 survives termination.
These Terms commence when you first accept them or use the Services and continue until terminated in accordance with this Section 28.
You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting your Account through the in-app account deletion feature and ceasing all use of the Services. Before deleting your Account, withdraw any eligible Wallet balance, download copies of your own content, unpublish enrolled works, and cancel any subscriptions through the applicable billing platform.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access at any time for breach of these Terms, where required by law, to protect the security of the Services, due to extended inactivity, upon discontinuation of the Services, or for any other reason upon reasonable prior notice. We may act immediately without notice in cases of fraud, financial crime, child safety violations, credible threats, illegal content, or security compromise.
Upon termination, all licenses granted to you immediately terminate; unused Stars are forfeited without compensation except as required by law; monetization, publishing, and export privileges end; your Wallet is handled per Section 12.7; and any provision that by its nature should survive will survive.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any suspension, restriction, or termination effected in accordance with these Terms.
Section 3.3 governs changes to the Services.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will post the revised Terms and update the “Last Updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable advance notice and, where required by law or App Store policy, obtain your affirmative consent.
If you do not agree to revised Terms, your sole remedy is to stop using the Services and delete your Account before the revised Terms take effect.
Material changes to Section 27 will not apply to any Dispute of which the parties had actual notice before the effective date, and each material change carries a renewed 30-day opt-out right.
The Services are controlled and operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
You agree to comply with all applicable export control and trade laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
You represent that neither you nor any party on whose behalf you act is located in a country subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions or identified on any restricted party list.
You will not use the Services in furtherance of any offer, payment, or promise of anything of value in violation of applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
The App and related documentation are “commercial products” and “commercial computer software” within the meaning of applicable federal acquisition regulations.
By creating an Account, you consent to receive communications from us electronically, and you agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
You are responsible for keeping the email address associated with your Account current. Notices sent to that address are deemed received when sent, whether or not actually read.
You may opt out of promotional emails via the unsubscribe mechanism in each message, without affecting service and legal communications.
Notices to the Company must be in writing and sent to Bookable America, Inc., 442 5th Ave, Manhattan, NY 10018, United States, or [email protected].
We may offer alpha, beta, preview, or experimental features (“Beta Features”), which may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice, may be unstable or incomplete, and are provided “AS IS” with the disclaimers in Section 23 applying with particular force.
Any contests or promotions we offer are subject to the official rules presented with them, which control in the event of conflict with these Terms.
If we offer referral or invitation rewards, they are subject to disclosed program terms. Self-referral, fake accounts, and manipulation will disqualify rewards.
We are committed to making the Services usable by as many people as possible and we welcome feedback on accessibility barriers at [email protected].
These Terms — together with the Privacy Policy, the Publishing Agreement, official promotion rules, and any Supplemental Terms — constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company with respect to the Services.
Except as expressly provided in Sections 27.6 and 27.7, if any provision of these Terms is held invalid, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, or severed, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right operates as a waiver. Any waiver must be express, in writing, and signed by an authorized officer.
You may not assign, delegate, or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
The Company will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control.
The parties are independent contractors. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, fiduciary, employment, or agency relationship.
Except as expressly provided in Section 22.4 (Apple) and with respect to the Company Parties’ rights under Sections 23–25, these Terms do not confer rights on any person other than you and the Company.
Section headings are for convenience only. “Include,” “includes,” and “including” are deemed followed by “without limitation.” The official language of these Terms is English; the English version controls in the event of conflict.
Pursuant to California Civil Code § 1789.3, California residents may contact us at [email protected], or the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, California 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
Where applicable law requires disclosures, notices, or rights different from those in these Terms, such law prevails to the extent of the conflict.
Our records, kept in the ordinary course of business, will be presumptively accurate evidence of the matters they record, absent manifest error.
No provision of these Terms is intended to violate the New Jersey Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act or any similar statute.
TO THE EXTENT ANY DISPUTE PROCEEDS IN COURT, YOU AND THE COMPANY EACH KNOWINGLY, VOLUNTARILY, AND IRREVOCABLY WAIVE, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY.
Any provision that by its nature should survive termination or expiration of these Terms will so survive.
This Appendix A (the “Publishing Agreement”) is part of, and incorporated into, the Readoh Terms of Service, and governs your publication and distribution of books and similar long-form works through the Publishing Program and, where you subscribe, the External Distribution program.
“Work” means each book, novel, novella, collection, or other long-form written work — together with its cover art, interior images, and metadata — submitted to the Publishing Program or enrolled in External Distribution. “Net Proceeds” means, for each sale, the amounts actually received by the Company from the applicable Distribution Channel, after deduction of the channel’s retail margin, listing fees, transaction costs, taxes, currency conversion, refunds, and chargebacks. “Print Costs” means per-unit manufacturing and fulfillment costs for print editions.
For each Work, you grant the Company a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, format, and prepare the Work for publication; reproduce, distribute, and sell the Work within the Services; sublicense to Distribution Channels for listing and fulfillment; and use the Work’s title, cover, and excerpts for marketing. All rights granted are non-exclusive; the default distribution territory is worldwide, narrowable through territory selection tools. All rights not expressly granted are reserved to you.
You are responsible for submitting complete, professionally presentable files and accurate metadata. Where an ISBN is required, you may supply your own or use one we provide, subject to the issuing agency’s rules. Material changes to a published Work may be treated as a new edition.
You set the list price for each Work, within any bounds displayed in the Services. Distribution Channels may discount, price-match, or convert prices under their own policies, and your Net Proceeds are calculated on the basis reported by the channel.
The Company will credit to your Wallet one hundred percent (100%) of Net Proceeds for each reported transaction. The Company does not deduct any commission from Net Proceeds; the only platform-imposed fee is the withdrawal fee under Section 12.4 of the Terms. We reserve the right to introduce a fee prospectively only, upon at least thirty (30) days’ notice. Reporting is typically delayed thirty (30) to ninety (90) days and may be adjusted for returns or errors.
Enrollment in External Distribution requires an active subscription (Section 13.3 of the Terms); the fee is a program access fee, not recoupable and not refundable except as required by law. If your subscription lapses, already published works remain live unless you unpublish them.
Print editions, where offered, are manufactured on demand based on the specifications you select. Industry-standard manufacturing tolerances are not defects.
You may unpublish or withdraw any Work at any time without penalty. Following withdrawal, removal from Distribution Channels requires channel processing time; copies already sold or in fulfillment cannot be recalled; and bibliographic metadata may persist in third-party catalogs.
For each Work, you represent that you have full authority to grant all rights granted; the Work is original or properly licensed and complies with Section 8 (no AI-Generated Content); the Work contains no unlawful material; all necessary permissions have been obtained; and you will promptly notify us of any claim or dispute affecting a Work.
Your indemnification obligations under Section 25 of the Terms apply in full to your Works and publishing activities. The disclaimers and limitations of liability in Sections 23 and 24 apply in full.
This Publishing Agreement is governed by Sections 26 and 27 of the Terms. Material adverse changes to the economics of Section A-5 apply prospectively only, with at least thirty (30) days’ notice.
These Community Guidelines are part of, and incorporated into, the Readoh Terms of Service. They explain, in plainer language, how we interpret and enforce the Community Standards in Section 9. If there is any conflict, Section 9 controls.
Readoh is a home for readers and writers. Literature explores every part of the human experience, and we protect the space for serious creative work. At the same time, creative framing is never a license to target, endanger, deceive, or exploit real people.
Child safety. Zero tolerance. Content sexualizing minors, and conduct that grooms or endangers minors, results in immediate removal, permanent termination, evidence preservation, and reporting to NCMEC and law enforcement.
Violence and threats. Fiction may explore war and crime. You may not threaten a real person, celebrate a real attack, or use fiction as a wrapper for a genuine threat.
Hate. Fiction may depict bigoted characters and historical atrocities. Content whose purpose is to dehumanize or promote hatred is prohibited.
Harassment. Harsh criticism of books is fine. Campaigns against people are not.
Self-harm. Memoir and fiction may address these subjects with care. Content that instructs or glamorizes self-harm is removed. If danger is imminent, contact local emergency services (call or text 988 in the U.S.).
Parody must be unmistakable. Don’t review your own work, buy or trade reviews, or automate engagement. The Stars economy exists to reward creators — circular gifting and laundering schemes result in forfeiture and termination. Readoh does not accept AI-generated books, stories, articles, posts, reviews, or synthetic voice content, disclosed or not.
Literary works may contain profanity, violence, and mature sexual themes appropriate to the work. Pornographic media and non-consensual intimate imagery are prohibited everywhere. Works enrolled in External Distribution must satisfy each channel’s stricter standards.
Club moderators must enforce these Guidelines within their clubs. Everything in these Guidelines applies to speech in real time in Live Audio — don’t record sessions without consent or stream copyrighted music. Message people who want to hear from you.
Use Readoh’s payment features for Readoh transactions. Don’t solicit off-platform payment to bypass a paywall.
First-time, lower-severity violations typically receive a warning or content removal. Repeated or serious violations escalate to feature restrictions, suspension, and permanent termination. Severe violations skip the ladder entirely.
Report violations through in-app tools. If we take action and you believe we got it wrong, appeal through the link in your enforcement notice or email [email protected] with the subject “Enforcement Appeal.”
This Appendix C is part of, and incorporated into, the Readoh Terms of Service. It applies if you are a consumer habitually resident in the EEA or the UK, and it prevails over any conflicting provision of the main body of the Terms.
Nothing in the Terms excludes, limits, or purports to waive any right or remedy you have under mandatory consumer protection law of your country of habitual residence that cannot be derogated from by agreement.
Your contract is with Bookable America, Inc., 442 5th Ave, Manhattan, NY 10018, United States; email: [email protected]. The contract is concluded in English.
You benefit from a statutory guarantee that digital content and digital services we supply will be in conformity with the contract, as provided by the Digital Content Directive (EU) 2019/770 or the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK). If not in conformity, you are entitled to the statutory remedies of your jurisdiction, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in Sections 23 and 24 of the Terms.
You have the right to withdraw from a contract within fourteen (14) days without giving any reason. Where you purchase digital content not supplied on a tangible medium — including Stars — you expressly consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once supply has begun. If you withdraw from a subscription after requesting performance to begin, you owe an amount proportionate to what was provided.
Model Withdrawal Form: To Bookable America, Inc., 442 5th Ave, Manhattan, NY 10018, United States; [email protected]: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the supply of the following digital content/service: [describe]; Ordered on: [date]; Name of consumer: [name]; Address of consumer: [address]; Signature (only if notified on paper); Date.
Renewal and cancellation mechanics comply with the law of your habitual residence. Price increases take effect no earlier than your next renewal, with prior notice and, where required, your affirmative consent.
You benefit from the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence. Section 27 (mandatory arbitration and class action waiver) does not apply to you, and you may bring proceedings against us in the courts of your country of habitual residence.
We are willing to attempt in good faith to resolve any complaint through our internal processes first ([email protected]). You may also be entitled to refer disputes to a consumer ADR body in your country.
If you are an EEA or UK Creator, monetization and payouts may be subject to additional local reporting requirements, including DAC7 or UK digital platform reporting rules.
